We design every cover around one of two mounting methods, depending on how your unit is set up. Both are described below, along with what is worth having ready before you start. The fixings and the base are chosen at the design stage, so tell us with your enquiry how and where the unit is mounted.
You fix the cover to the elevation when the unit hangs on wall brackets. The load goes into the masonry fixings, and the cover wraps the unit from the viewer's side while leaving the back open. This is the usual arrangement for air conditioners fitted under a window or on the side of the house.

The cover stands on its own base and needs no fixing to the wall. It works well when the unit sits on the ground, on paving, on a platform or on a flat roof. We size the base so that the cover is stable where it is going to stand.

Unpack the cover on delivery and check that everything is there and that the powder coating has not been damaged in transit. Have the basic tools ready: a spirit level, a drill and a screwdriver or keys for the fixings.
Stand or hold the cover in its final position without fixing it, and check that it does not touch the unit and that the back stays clear. Make sure there is room for the air to move and access to the valves and the pipework.
For wall mounting, mark the hole positions on the elevation using a spirit level. For the free-standing version, set the base where the cover is to stand and check that the ground is level and firm.
Fix the cover according to the version you chose: to the wall on plugs and screws suited to the type of masonry, or by setting and securing the base in the free-standing version. Tighten the fixings evenly, checking that it stays plumb and level.
Once it is fixed, check again that the cover does not touch the unit, that the back is open and that the air has a free way out. Run the air conditioner and make sure it works normally, with nothing blocking the discharge. Remember that the manufacturer's guidance on clearances and airflow is what binds: the cover is a decorative item, and choosing and fitting it is your own responsibility.

Yes, the cover can be fitted single-handed if you have basic tools and some experience of simple installation work. If the unit is hard to reach or sits high up, it is worth having a second pair of hands or calling in a professional.
The cover does not interfere with the unit itself or with its installation, provided you keep the recommended clearances and the airflow free. If in doubt, check the warranty terms for your unit or speak to the installer who fitted it.
Yes — we design the structure so that access to the unit is kept. Mention it with your enquiry if the engineer needs particularly easy access from one particular side, and we will allow for it at the design stage.
The cover fixes to ordinary house walls, with the plugs and screws chosen to match the material of the elevation (brick, concrete, block, or a wall with external insulation). If you are not sure what your wall is made of, say so with your enquiry and we will advise on the fixings.
That depends on the manufacturer of the unit and on how the cover is specified. The cover is a decorative item and is not part of the installation, so before fitting it check the manual or ask your installer what clearances and what airflow your unit needs, and match the degree of enclosure and the slat gap to that guidance. The configurator indicates how much of the surface stays open, but the decision to fit it, and the fitting itself, are yours.
